Day 1
Field trip to collect the plants. Enjoy the opportunity to interact with desert plants and understand how Mother Nature helps them survive in extreme conditions. You will work with a Glass Still and a Copper Still. Under the guidance of Dave Sylvester, you will learn how to assemble them and how to set up the distillation process. Get ready for hands-on activities, it is time to go back to nature!
Day 2
Under the guidance of Christine Sylvester, you will learn the principles of hydro-distillation and steam distillation. You will learn about the herbal applications of the collected plants, about the chemistry and the energetics of the extracted essential oils. You will learn about herbal extracts, tinctures, teas and you will compare them to understand the similarities and differences. Moreover, you will have the chance to extract the essential oils and the hydrosols of the harvested plants. You will learn about the therapeutics, metaphysics, and energetic qualities of your extracts. Finally, you will learn how to create different blends and their applications, safety, and contraindications.
In addition, you will receive:
- A custom manual
- Blending recipes
- You will create inhalers and blends and you will take them home
- Hydrosol, if we will get a quality one through the process of distillation.
