Botanical aspects: fam.Cupressaceae

Botany(description) Also known as Eastern White Cedar, Northern White Cedar, Cedar Leaf, Tree Of Life, and American Arborvitae, it grows near freshwater. Thuja occidentalis, our "Canadian cedar", is wrongly called so because it resembles Lebanon cedar (Cedrus atlantica) or Western red cedar (Thuja plicata), which has similar bark but is much larger in size and in diameter. Cedar leaf also called "the tree of life” is a powerful sanitizer and repellent against unwanted organisms: mites, lice, and fleas. Very easy to use, pure or diluted as an essential oil or a hydrosol, it even cleanses grounds swarming with fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Several Aboriginal tribes called it the tree of life and used it as incense to keep away unwelcome and/or obsessive entities, presences, and memories. Cedar Leaf Oil is used in perfumes, toiletries, cosmetics, soaps, and detergents for its aromatic properties. A top solid note, Cedar Leaf Essential Oil is intensely sharp and fresh with a woody camphoraceous scent.
